Allison Rapaport

Partner – New York
Allison Rapaport began her entrepreneurial journey by accident while working at the NYC headquarters of Barclays Capital. Coming from a role as a debt investment analyst at Sankaty Advisors (now Bain Capital Credit), she joined as the 4th and only junior member of a team working to establish an investment fund within the bank. This role turned out to be much more about building a business than an investment portfolio, and Allison realized that she had found her passion. The next step in investigating what exactly this meant landed her at Columbia Business School for an MBA, where she developed skills in areas such as strategy, marketing and management and interned in product development and strategy roles. It became clear that launching a venture was the next step, and Allison pitched the Dean of the Business School on a program to help entreprenerus band together upon graduation to form a network and help each other succeed. The Columbia Business Lab was born and Allison served as founder and president for 2 years while also launching her own personal venture, InteractAble Building and growing the Business Lab not only gave Allison experience building a community and resource base to support them, but also exposed her to the trials and tribulations of 30 entrepreneurs – from immigration woes to commercial real estate struggles. Her network of these individuals remains strong and continues to grow. Through InteractAble, Allison has hired and managed a cross-functional team and launched numerous digital products for consumer and institutional clients.

She holds a BBA in Finance from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
